THIRD COMMUNITY BUILDING
GOLF TOURNAMENT
that was scheduled for Saturday, July 31, at Mill Creek Country Club has been postponed until Saturday, September 25, at 9 a.m.

The Keyser Presbyterian Church has completed a 6300 square foot Community Building Complex on its grounds for use by local Keyser area organizations such as Youth League Basketball, various youth activities, birthday parties, meetings, etc.

The Golf Tournament is one of the ways we are seeking to raise money and help defray some of the costs. We are searching for corporate and individual hole sponsors for our tournament. Hole sponsorships are $50.00. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

The Golf Tournament will be a four-man scramble format. The cost to participate is $50.00 per person which will include green fee, cart, team powerball, one individual mulligan, refreshments on the course and a meal to follow the tournament.

BELL CHOIR will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 8, at 6:00 PM in the Balcony. Anyone who reads music and is interested in playing is invited to join us!

ATTENTION PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN. The Annual Fall Gathering in Massanetta this year is called THE BIG EVENT and will be held on Saturday, September 11. All who are interested in attending, please contact Carol Nesbit 304-788-2408 or Charlotte Hott 304-788-1205.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE celebrating the life of Christian Clark (son of Fred & Judy Clark and grandson of Nola Clark) will be held on Sunday, September 12, at 3:00 PM at the High Rise (Potomac Heights) in Keyser.

PRAYER CHAIN. Effective Tuesday, September 21, the Prayer Chain will be done by telephone and e-mail. To activate by telephone, call Jean Burgess at 304-788-3430. SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER PIPELINE ARTICLES are due Sunday, August 29. Information may be e-mailed to lluvara@hotmail.com or give articles to Lynn Luvara or put them in her church mailbox. All articles must be typed.

HELPING HANDS. Although at the moment our funds are limited, we are involved in helping several displaced families. We are looking for a queen size mattress and springs set and other furniture. We are also involved in an After School Program for the Middle School in conjunction with Keyser Presbyterian Church. More on that later.

THANK YOU DEAR FRIENDS for allowing us to stay at Heritage House on our recent trip to Keyser to work for Helping Hands. The accommodations were very spacious for eating, sleeping, and having our team meetings. The youth really enjoyed the activities in the basement. May God bless you as you reach out to serve others.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK those from the Keyser church who have sent cards, made telephone calls, offered prayers, and visited in recent weeks during Herb Hartman’s hospitalization. It is heartwarming to know that the family and I have so much support from the Keyser family. Thanks! A MEMORIAL SERVICE is planned to be held at Sunnyside on November 30 with burial to be on December 1 at Arlington.

FAMILY IN NEED _ Donations of basic furniture, household items and other necessities are new being accepted for Chad and Julie Wilt and children who lost their home in a fire recently. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact the Keyser Sears Store at (304) 788-4343. The children range ian churches in Frostburg and Cumberland are going to the Dakota Indian Reservation to teach the children and help. Two more work groups will be coming in later July to help ourn age from 6-12.

FAITH-IN-ACTION FOOD PANTRY. Thank you food angels for remembering this ministry. It is so sad to carry things in. The shelves of donations are really down. State funded supplies come in but they are limited as to what the funding is for the state and we have to share with the many food pantries around the state. Always needed are soup and crackers, peanut butter and jelly, pasta and sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables and fruit, ramen noodles, pancake mix (water only to mix) and syrup, tuna, baked beans with hot dogs, and maybe some boxes of jell-o for an after school snack.

4 CENTS-A-MEAL OFFERING. Thank you for helping the children collect coins to fight hunger. If you would like to participate, it’s easy! 1) Pick up a little jar from the gray cart in the lobby. 2) For each meal that you eat, place 4 cents in the jar. 3) Bring the jar full of money back on the 4^th Sunday of the month and the children will collect the jars in their little red wagon. Proceeds go to our local Faith-In-Action Food Pantry and also to the Presbytery’s Bread for the World Fund.

HAITI. Scholarships are now being accepted. Only $55 will put one of our children of the mountain in school for a year. Our mission to Haiti is ongoing and as we rebuild the schools we need to give the little ones hope for a better future. Also, do not forget coins for milk in the offering plate. 5 cents for a cup of milk.

ALUMINUM CANS. Don’t forget your aluminum cans still make their contribution to our Building Fund. Gather them up after each of your events and bring them to the Heritage House for recycling. Also, please remember your pledges to the building during the summer months. Our five-year pledge cycle continues.

CHANCEL CHOIR rehearsal began Thursday, August 19 at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.

BELL CHOIR will return on Wednesday, September 8, at 6:00 PM.

PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER. Contacts with churches throughout Arkansas and Tennessee to assess needs because of recent flooding. Also, contacts to Mississippi and Louisiana in regards to the impending oil disaster. Pray for all those affected.

IF YOU HAVE CD’S of previous worship services at home, please return cases to the church office so that they may be reused. Call the office if you need someone to pick them up. We have ordered more cases but recycling helps us continue our CD ministry.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICE. Anyone in need of transportation to the doctor, dentist, hospital, pharmacy or grocery store, etc., please call the Church Office at 304-788-2142 for a list of available drivers. Also, if you are available to provide transportation, let us know.
