SHENANDOAH PRESBYTERY: A
Heritage of Service. The History Committee
of Shenandoah Presbytery is nearing the publication of the History
of Shenandoah Presbytery. Expected to be available in late 2011, the
Committee is offering the book at the pre-publication price of $32
plus $5 shipping for each copy ordered. This first history of
Shenandoah Presbytery offers 450 pages of church profiles, an
oversize fold-out map with church locations, photographs of all 110
churches, early histories of the Winchester and Lexington
Presbyteries and lots of photographs! Order forms are available at
http://www.shenpres.org/HistoryBook.html or you may call the church
office.
MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING PLEDGES. If you need envelopes, please
contact the church office at 304-788-2142.
PRESBYTERIAN
DISASTER RELIEF. There are over 100 work teams that are
ready to go to help with flooding and tornado damage. The need
for money is overwhelming as this is the worst year of disasters
since records have been kept. Kits are needed always. Thank you
Circle 1 for stepping up to prepare them. Over 1200 have been
sent so far. Remember, when you have nothing and are in a
shelter, a personal kit is most welcome. They will be taken to
Church World Service shortly. They have the transportation
available to help. Meanwhile, thank you for the donations to the
shower trailer outreach. We need to help all we can. All of us
can remember our flood of '85.

NEW MEMBER CLASS. Been
attending Keyser Presbyterian Church for awhile? Want to learn
more about the Presbyterian Church? Wonder why we do the things
we do the way we do? Pastor Karen is offering a class, “Come and
See: Life in the Presbyterian Church,” which will be held
through Lent on Sunday mornings beginning February 26, from
9:45-10:30 in her office. If you are interested in learning
more, or if you are interested in officially joining Keyser
Presbyterian Church, this class is for you! The plan is to
receive new members on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012, during
worship. Please let Pastor Karen know at 304-788-2412 or
revren84@frontier.com if you will participate in this class.
Thanks!
SPECIAL OFFERING. On Monday, Ty Robinette, daughter of our
custodian Odetta, and her fiancé lost everything they owned in a
fire in their apartment in Morgantown. They were uninsured. The
Session at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening voted to
receive a special offering to help Ty and her fiancé as they
recover from this devastating loss. The offering will be
received at the Annual Meeting of the Congregation immediately
following worship today in the Fellowship Hall. There will also
be an offering plate set out in the narthex next Sunday for
those who wish to give but do not have the opportunity this
Sunday. Thanks for your compassionate generosity.
4 CENTS-A-MEAL OFFERING will
be received February 26. Thank you for helping the children
collect coins to fight hunger. If you would like to participate,
it’s easy! 1) Pick up a little jar from the gray cart in the
lobby. 2) For each meal that you eat, place 4 cents in the jar.
3) Bring the jar full of money back on the 4th Sunday of the
month and the children will collect the jars in their little red
wagon. Proceeds go to our local Faith-In-Action Food Pantry and
also to the Presbytery’s Bread for the World Fund.
FEBRUARY GREETERS are Sam & Sandy Kalbaugh.
FEBRUARY COUNTERS are Jack & Carol Landes, Jean Burgess and
Lynn Luvara.
FEBRUARY USHERS are Jeff Burgess (Head), Craig Fazenbaker,
Ed Smith & Kirby Adkins.
It’s that time of year! Time to

program. If you are interested in taking on the job as director,
please talk to Pastor Karen, Mary Jane or any member of the
Christian Ed. Committee today.
PLEASE HELP make a little
boy’s wish come true. Max is 5 years old and has leukemia. He
says, “If I could have one wish, it would be to get a million
Christmas cards.” You can send cards to Max at 752-B Weaver
Street, Morgantown, WV 26505. Thank you for helping to make his
wish come true!
