 From Our Church

People consider many things when visiting churches. The teaching. The music. Age groups. Families. Singles. Opportunities to serve. What you may be seeking could be dramatically different from the next person - or it could be exactly the same.

With open doors and open hearts Our congregation covers many generations, among which are people of every stage of faith. We welcome those seeking God and His truths, regardless of questions, baggage, or plain old life experiences.

Whatever you're looking for... you mean something to God. As God's church, you mean something to us. You are always welcome here.

Welcome!

Rev. Karen Long

Karen grew up in South Charleston, WV!  After graduating from Concord College, she worked for the WV Worker’s Compensation Fund as a court reporter for four years.  She made her way to Richmond, VA, where she graduated from Presbyterian School of Christian Education with an MA in Christian Education, then traveled to Greenville, PA, to be a part of a year-long parish-centered CPE program.  During that year, she came to understand that her gifts for ministry could be used best if she attended seminary, so she returned to Richmond, and graduated from Union Theological Seminary.  Since her ordination to the ministry of Word and sacrament, Karen has served churches in Spencer, WV; Rockford, OH; Tazewell, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.  She was rescued by a terrier of unknown parentage 10 years ago.  Stanley has trained her well.

"Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

(Deut. 11:19)

This passage is indicative of the Bible's intention that children be taught by their parents about the things of God. Fathers who take this responsibility seriously not only strengthen their own families but their churches as well. Men who lead their families well are those who will lead their churches well.

(Ephesians 6:4)

Resources for Lent

A worship service is a celebration. It is a time when we come into God’s presence and praise Him. Each service is filled with music and teaching, joy and insight.

We provide many opportunities for people of all ages to experience and celebrate God and a life of faith.

This Easter, we Pray - let us travel this journey with you. Let us all stay awake while our Savior prays in the garden of Gethse- mane. And let us all rejoice on His return.

So we can sing it,

and tell it, and live it.

...Amen
